Second event: UAV Technology Flies into Kendall Square

The second United4Defense event, will take place at the Cambridge Innovation Center (One broadway, Cambridge MA 02142 – on the 3rd floor, Bogota meeting room) on September 20, 2012 from 6pm to 7pm. The first event was a great success, we were more than 25 people, and we hope you can attend this one. Light snacks and local beers will be served.

Dr. John Wissler, from Aurora Flight Sciences, will give a presentation titled “UAV Technologies” and will feature a demonstration of the Skate backpackable UAV system.Dr. Wissler is the Director of Aerospace Systems at Aurora’s Research and Development Center in Cambridge, MA. Prior to joining Aurora he enjoyed a 30 year USAF career, mostly in research and development, retiring as a Colonel; his most recent active duty assignment was as Deputy Director of Engineering at Electronic Systems Center, Hanscom AFB, MA.  Among his many assignments on active duty, he led the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Air Vehicles Directorate, AFRL’s Battlespace Environments Division, and the USAF Academy’s Aeronautics Laboratory. Dr. Wissler has a Ph.D. from California Institute of Technology, a Master of Science (Aeronautical Engineering) from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Maryland, as well as a Masters in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College.
